Chemical peels training course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the use of chemical peels. We specifically place great emphasis on ingredients, strength, how chemical peels can affect the skin and result identification. In order to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter, our course also focuses on how chemical peels are administered, what precautions must be taken as well as any important counterindications.

At Avante Laser Training Institute, The Woodlands we place a slightly greater emphasis on light peels such as Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) peels and Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) peels

The course is also designed to enhance the students’ knowledge of the skin; including anatomy, physiology, various skin conditions as well as the vitamins, extracts, and chemical peel acids that can treat them.

Laser Hair Removal Theory & Practicum

To achieve the State of Texas Laser Hair Removal Technician Certification, one must fulfill 2 parts. First part is classroom training in which participants will receive 40 hours of theory training. The second part (Practicum) is the hands-on training where one must complete the required 100 laser hair removal treatments.

In addition to bestowing the most modern in health-related aesthetic instruction, Avante Laser Training Institute is certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration as a certification training institute for Laser Hair Removal candidates. The State of Texas put into law new legal guidelines in 2010 which require each Laser Hair Removal provider to follow the specifications of Texas Administrative Code 289.302. This regulation determines specifications for radiation safety in the use of lasers and pulsed light devices for hair removal treatments. Specifically in Section 289.302 (i-j), the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration mandates certification for those individuals handling laser hair removal equipment in Texas.

In order for any student taking any Avante Laser Training Institute class to be able to practice the skill learned, you must be aware of the following Texas State Medical Board Rulings governing the practices and classes we teach:

Registration and Radiation Safety Requirements for Lasers and Intense-Pulsed Light Devices

Nonsurgical Medical Cosmetic Procedures

These rulings state that in order to use a class 2 or higher device, you must either be or under the supervision of a medical doctor, nurse practitioner or a physician’s assistant to perform these practices.

We provide you with the state certification examination for technicians desiring to become Certified Laser Hair Removal Technicians. ALTI is proud to offer state-approved CEUs for Laser Hair Removal Specialists who need to satisfy their 8-hour CEU obligation every two years. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Training

All of the below courses have been approved by the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and are accredited to fully satisfy the annual CEU requirements.

Lash Lifting Review

(8 Hours)

Lash lifting is the ‘curling’ of the eyelashes using a series of gentle treatments.

It is designed to help clients achieve a more natural-looking curl, leading to more prominent and defined lashes.

Lash lifting is an excellent alternative to more high-maintenance solutions such as lash extensions.

In this one-day intensive lash lifting course, we train our students to become confident lash lifting artists. Our entry-level students will learn all aspects of lash lifting, from profiling and drawing to touchups and even how to complete consent forms.

At the end of the 8 hours, students can leave the class as masters of the lash lifting craft.

Anatomy and Physiology of Skin and Hair

(1 Hour)

In this additional training module, students will learn:

1. The Anatomy of Skin: The composition of skin and its structures.

2. The Anatomy of Hair: The composition of a hair follicle.

3. The Physiology of Skin: The different functions of the skin as an organ.

4. The Physiology of Hair: The different cycles of hair growth as well as the cells in the hair that are targeted by laser treatments.

5. How laser treatments affect the hair follicles.

Laser Treatment of Ethnic Skin Types

(1 Hour)

In this additional training module, students will learn:

1. The differences between ethnic and Caucasian skin.

2. Specific issues that can arise when treating ethnic skin.

3. What precautions are taken while using lasers with ethnic skin. Proper lasers for dark skin types and the reasons behind them.

4. Potential complications and how to avoid them.

Sterilization, Disinfection and Safety in The Medical Spa

(1 Hour)

In this additional training module, students will learn:

1. The difference between sterilization and disinfection.

2. Various methods of sterilization.

3. The Bloodborne Pathogens Act (OSHA).

4. How to identify safe practices in the spa or clinic.
