Laser Training for Vein Reduction / Pigmented Lesion Removal

Vein Reduction / Pigmented Lesion Removal

Laser Training Course: 8 Hours

This seminar provides classroom theory and clinical hands-on practice with small vessel/telangiectasia reduction. Students will also learn isolated pigmented lesion removal procedures. These procedures will enhance a spa/clinic's ability to meet the demands of reversing the signs of aging.

Spider Veins are small blood vessels near the surface of the skin that are dilated and therefore visible. They can show up as a single thread or as a cluster, like a spiderweb (hence the name). Fortunately, they aren't essential for circulation. Heredity is the primary cause, though women are more susceptible to spider veins than men are. Sitting or standing for too long can exacerbate them.

Before and After of Vein Reduction / Pigmented Lesion Removal

Pigmented lesions are dark areas or higher concentrations of melanin in the skin that many people are trying to get rid of. They are usually located in the dermal-epidermal junction and are superficial. Sun exposure and damage can cause a person to have pigmented lesions. These are sometimes called:

  • solar spots
  • age spots
  • freckles
  • solar lentigines
  • lentigos
  • moles
  • or port wine stains

With treatments you will reduce the appearance of sun damage by reducing the solar pigmented lesions.

Skin tags are bits of skin- or flesh-colored tissue that project from the surrounding skin from a small, narrow stalk. Some people call these growths "skin tabs" or barnacles. Skin tags typically occur in characteristic locations, including the base of the neck, underarms, eyelids, groin folds, and under the breasts (especially where underwire bras rub directly beneath the breasts). Although skin tags may vary somewhat in appearance, they are usually smooth or slightly wrinkled and irregular, flesh-colored or slightly more brown, and hang from the skin by a small stalk.

Early or beginning skin tags may be as small as a flattened pinhead-sized bump. While most tags typically are small (2-5 mm in diameter) at approximately one-third to one-half the size of a pinky fingernail, some skin tags may become as large as a big grape (1 cm in diameter) or a fig (5 cm in diameter).

Sebaceous Hyperlasia is a common, benign condition of sebaceous glands in adults of middle age or older. Lesions can be single or multiple and manifest as yellowish, soft, small papules on the face (particularly nose, cheeks, and forehead).
